excuses for being pale & tea inspiration (day 56)

While I am stuck at work today for 5 hours, this is what I will be looking at....

It may look pretty from the comfort and safety of the office, but really, it's like an oven. I'm an advocate of heat. I despise snow and cold. But, almost a month of 100+ degree weather is too much even for me. Oklahoma City set a record high temperature last week... 110 degrees. This explains why I'm still incredibly pasty and pale... weather and homework. Speaking of homework.... I hear the 1930's calling to me...

Hope you all have a beautiful day!

Day 56 - A picture of something that makes you happy.

sleepy time tea and wonderful advice :)

  1. At least you have that to look at. I have a tiny window way up high. Although I think if I had that one, I'd probably stare outside and day dream!

  2. OH and when I first got on the boat. The neighboring boat had been to the Bahamas, and I thought that was amazing. That was before I got sea sick and spent the whole day in bed. Sea life isn't fore me!

  3. Holy crap, 110?! Oh my gosh, that's crazy! Yikes. I like summer, but you can't even stand to be outside in that sort of heat!

  5. I am in the same boat as you in regards to preferring heat. The winters in Chicago are pure torture and I'd take 100 over 0 any day! It's been crazy hot here too though and despite forcing myself to be outside because I'll take when I can get here, I'm still pretty pasty pale too (at least compared to my fiance, who is working outside setting us stages everyday!).

  6. I don't really like the heat either, though I also don't really like the snow... Maryland has both extremes! I love September-November when I can wear sweaters and drink tea and not sweat off all my makeup before I even make it into the office ;)

  7. Lol ~ I spent my life LOVING the heat, even the humidity... however this year I feel things shifting a bit! It's so funny that you posted this today, because I was just telling this to the girls a couple of hours ago! ;) I saw a photo of autumn the other day and thought "How lovely". :) Not that I'll wish the summer away, but 80's with low humidity is now my weather of choice. :)

  8. I once took a quiz on FB "What era should you have lived in?" I got the 1930's...really? An independent strongly opinionated liberal woman of mixed race that works in finance should have grew up in the era that not only hosted the Great Depression and the start of the WWII but also did not yet hold any hope for equality for blacks or women...I don't think so quiz. I. Don't. Think. So. On the plus side prohibition ended, so there was that at least.

  9. Dang, that's brutal. We've been having a draught too in addition to that heat, although I think the highest we've gotten during this heat wave is 107. It's hard to even step outside, but everything was dying anyway so it was depressing. But we got rain last night for the first time in I think 50 days! Yay!
