today is finally later (day 36)

I'm a procrastinator.

I can admit it. I procrastinate. I'll do it tomorrow. I'll do it later.

When it comes to yoga, later turned out to be years. I bought the pants and the mat, and that's about as far as I got. I kept meaning to sign up for classes. I bought a DVD and gave up after about 4 minutes (it's difficult when the person on the screen tells you what to do, but doesn't tell you if you're doing it right!). I went to a local studio to see about trying a class for free to see if I liked it, but they were closed. I never went back. I kept telling myself I would get around to it later.

Well, today is finally later. I signed up for a month of weekly classes at my college. My first hatha yoga class is July 5th.

I would like to thank my bff since 2nd period Art class on the first day of freshman year at Mayville High School, Katie, for inspiring me. Katie lives in ATL and just started her own blog www.katies-karma.blogspot.com. She practices yoga often and loves it. She even signed up for a yoga teach training class this fall and recently wrote her first article for a local yoga website. I'm super proud of her for realizing, then following her dreams! Thanks for the inspiration!

Day 36 - A picture of your ‘other half'

This is Courtney... my other half, as we refer to each other :) We met in Oklahoma in 2007. We have so much in common and we had so much fun (before she left me and moved back to PA!). We definitely bonded instantly and for Courtney and I it was love and friendship at first sight!

  1. I've always wanted to do yoga too, but it's just too expensive. :(

  2. Good for you Sara, I think at this point in your life you'll probably love the peace it brings you! I've tried yoga, and while finding it extremely relaxing, have yet to find a solid and steady spot for it in my life. Other things take priority right now, but I have a feeling one day it'll be a part of my daily routine. Can't wait to hear how it goes for you! :)

  3. Yay for you, Sara! I used to procrastinate all. The. Time. What's ironic is that now I'm the complete opposite - I can't stand to leave jobs sitting around, I love to finish them ASAP so I can have time to do what I want, when I want! :) Maybe you'll end up like me, the complete opposite of a procrastinator. :)

I hope you enjoy your yoga class! Let us know how it goes!

  4. Lol, me too, girl, me too! I've done yoga off and on for years, well, actually it's been off for the last several years. I sure like how I feel when I do it, though. Limber and stretched out, it really seems to free up some trapped energy. I follow Richard Hittleman's book that's a 30 day yoga plan with lots of pics, easy to learn the poses. Maybe you could find it used somewhere.

  5. Renee... I totally agree, but luckily my school offers classes for only $20 a month :)

Melinda... I think I'm finally at a good point to try it... I'm being open minded but I'm not as flexible as I used to be so hopefully it goes well! I'll definitely let you know though!

Taylor Lynn... I hope that happens to me! My procrastination drives me crazy... haha!

Laurie... I'll definitely look for the book, thanks for the suggestion! I'm hoping once I go to a few classes and make sure I'm doing the poses right, I'll be able to practice at home... we'll see :)
